CPDP is a non-profit platform originally founded in 2007 by research groups from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the Université de Namur and Tilburg University. The platform was joined in the following years by the Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique and the Fraunhofer Institut für System und Innovationsforschung and has now grown into a platform carried by 20 academic centers of excellence from the EU, the US and beyond. As a world-leading multidisciplinary conference CPDP offers the cutting edge in legal, regulatory, academic and technological development in privacy and data protection. Within an atmosphere of independence and mutual respect, CPDP gathers academics, lawyers, practitioners, policy-makers, industry and civil society from all over the world in Brussels, offering them an arena to exchange ideas and discuss the latest emerging issues and trends. This unique multidisciplinary formula has served to make CPDP one of the leading data protection and privacy conferences in Europe and around the world.
What are the current COVID-19 measures inBelgium?
The measures in Belgium are decided on the basis of a barometer, with three colour-coded phases: yellow, orange and red. Belgium is currently under code yellow which means that:
· For people who are vaccinated, or have been tested before departure, there are no further testing or quarantine-requirements upon arrival in Belgium
· The Covid Safe Ticket is no longer required to access the hospitality sector or events
· Wearing a face mask on public transport is mandatory, and is recommended in indoor, crowded areas
The CPDP team will continue to adhere to strict air quality requirements in indoor areas. We will continue to update this page regularly and continue to work with all partners to make sure CPDP is a Covid-safe conference.
Please keep a close eye on our FAQ page and consult the official Coronavirus barometer for Belgium here.
Where will CPDP2022 take place?
CPDP2022 will take place in Les Halles de Schaerbeek and Area42, our usual meeting places in Brussels, Belgium.
Can I participate in CPDP through an online channel?
CPDP2022 aims to be an in-person conference. The Programming Committee currently offers all panel organisers the option to have one panelist joining the panel remotely. With the exception of CPDP Global (our fully online, 1-day track on the second day of the conference), other CPDP panels will not be livestreamed, but will be made available in the online archive after the conference. While CPDP Global registrants will be able to access the online panels of the CPDP Global track, they will not be able to access otherwise physical or hybrid panels until after the conference.
