Teaching and research positions at Freie Universität Berlin, Université Paris VIII, Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico-City and University of Cincinnati. Writes occasionally for "Der Spiegel" and "Die Zeit." Currently senior researcher at LSTS at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where he conducts the project "Six Fundamental Challenges to State Sovereignty in the Digital Age: A Descriptive and Normative Analysis" funded by Gerda Henkel Foundation’s Special Programme "Security, Society and the State."
