Bertrand Pailhès is the Director for technology and innovation of the French DPA (CNIL) since November 2019. Graduated from Telecom ParisTech and Sciences Po Paris, he worked for the French telecom regulator (ARCEP) and the French data protection authority (CNIL) before joining, in 2013, the ministerial staff of the deputy minister for digital economy, Fleur Pellerin. In 2015, he was appointed chief of staff of Axelle Lemaire, secretary of state for digital affairs, and led the adoption of the law for a digital Republic in 2016. He has been the national coordinator for the French AI strategy in 2018 and 2019.
