Ms Benassi, a lawyer, economist and data scientist, is head of Enforcement of Consumer law and redress at the European Commission since 2012. She worked previously on trade issues, including at the EU Delegation in Beijing. Her unit is in charge, inter alia, of the Consumer Protection Cooperation (CPC) Regulation which provides a framework for national consumer authorities to coordinate their enforcement activities when tackling EU level business practices in breach of consumer law. She is leading the Commission's project for a voluntary pledge to facilitate consumer choices in relation to advertising models and the related consent to trackers.
