Bianca Marcu is a PhD Researcher at the interdisciplinary Research Group on Law, Science, Technology and Society (LSTS) and the Fundamental Rights Research Centre (FRC) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Her research focuses on migration management and border technologies, fundamental rights of migrants, and data protection law. She holds a Master’s degree in International Law from Maastricht University, where she specialised in Human Rights Law. Prior to academia, Bianca held research positions at human rights NGOs, and as Data Protection Officer. Whilst at the VUB, Bianca is also the Coordinator of the CPDP Conference as part of the Core Programming Committee.
