Achim Klabunde has followed the development of data protection for more than 50 years. After graduating in computer science from Bonn University, he worked for 30 years in industry and public sector, eventually with the European Commission and the EDPS. He contributed to the work of data protection authorities on technology at EU and global level. Currently, Achim is working in civil society roles, as a lecturer and as author of essays and commentaries. He is a Board Member of German Data Protection Association (DVD e.V.) and member of the German Computer Society’s Committee on Data protection and IT Security.
