Miriam Wimmer is a member of the first Board of Directors of the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Communications and a Master's degree in Public Law. She is a professional civil servant and a Professor at the Law School of IDP, in Brasília. She has been involved in policy discussions concerning personal data protection since 2011, and had an active role throughout the entire process of drafting and approval of the Brazilian legislation currently in force.
