Isabelle Vereecken is the Head of Secretariat of the European Data Protection Board – EDPB, which is composed of a team of more than 30 persons providing legal, IT, external communications and administrative support to the EDPB. Prior joining the EDPB, Isabelle was a legal advisor at the Belgian Data Protection Authority for 10 years. During that time, she was a charge on international data transfers matters such as BCR applications and acted as rapporteur for International flows issues. She participated in the cooperation between Working Party 29 and APEC. In addition, she provided support to the European Commission when finalising the drafting of GDPR proposals and contributed to the negotiation of GDPR by providing technical advices to the BE government.
