Gerasimos (Jerry) Spanakis is an Assistant Professor in machine learning and data mining at Maastricht University (Department of Advanced Computing Sciences and Law and Tech Lab). His current work lies in the area of social computing and the efficient use of Natural Language Processing for relevant applications. In the context of consumer protection and Data Services Act, he is interested into using Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing techniques to monitor, measure and enforce current regulation in new technologies (e.g. social media platforms).
