Sara is a Senior Policy Adviser at CPME (Standing Committee of European Doctors) and an affiliated researcher at VUB LSTS and HALL research groups since April 2020. She collaborated as a researcher at the VUB from October 2018 - March 2020 and worked in the EU co-funded project HR-Recycler. She is a Portuguese lawyer and PhD candidate. Her research interests are on health data sharing and access, data protection and privacy, medical confidentiality, innovation/experimentation in law and ethics. She holds a DES in public and administrative law from ULB (2006) and an LLM in International and European Law from VUB/IES (2018). She worked as a lawyer in Lisbon in public and administrative law until 2009, and in Brussels as a legal and senior policy officer at the Council of European Dentists until 2016. She was part of the CPDP2020 Core Programming Committee and was the CPDP2020 DPO.
