Karen Melchior is a Danish member of the European Parliament since 2019. Karen is a member of the Parliament's Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality, where she is active in forming the position of the liberal Renew Europe group. As an MEP, Karen is thoroughly invested in the legislative work related to advancing women’s rights and gender equality. She is fighting to ensure access to safe abortion is treated as part of healthcare and made available to all women across Europe. Karen is also an advocate for digital rights and consumer protection in the era of digitalization.
