Ella is a senior policy advisor at EDRi, Europe’s biggest network of digital human rights NGOs. She leads on the topic of biometrics, especially in the AI Act; the Prüm framework on the cross-border exchange of personal data by police; and the EU regulation against CSAM online. In all her work, Ella fights to uphold rights to privacy, data protection, free expression and non-discrimination. She is trained in the human rights and sociology of technology, with a strong interest in intersectional feminist approaches.
