Yordanka Ivanova is a PhD candidate in the Law Faculty of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” (Bulgaria), writing a thesis on the new EU legal framework for data protection (GDPR) and its interaction with Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. In addition to the research work, she is currently an acting attorney-at-law in Bulgaria, working in the field of EU regulations, in particular data protection and other fundamental rights, digital single market, intellectual property and financial services. She has worked for four years as a policy officer in the European Commission and has done an LLM in EU Law in Leiden University (the Netherlands).
