Lorelien Hoet is Director Government Affairs for Microsoft Belgium and Luxembourg. She is based in Brussels, and focuses in her current role on privacy, law enforcement, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Before joining Microsoft in March 2018, she worked for the Belgian telecommunications operators Proximus and Orange, both as head of the legal department for consumer & privacy law and as head of regulatory affairs. Before, she was active as an associate lawyer notably at WilmerHale and Stibbe in Brussels, dealing with competition law and EU law generally. She obtained an LL.M at KULeuven, studied also at Ruprecht Karls Universität Heidelberg and studied European law at the ULBruxelles.
