Does consent information truly help users balance the risks and benefits of data processing? Our research raises more questions than answers. Conducting a set of qualitative interviews with a diverse population, we have developed three user personas: The Guarded, the Wary, and the Whatever. With the participants we will design new ways to communicate privacy issues in the digital sphere to said idealtypical personas. The aim is to increaseuser engagement and promote informed decision-making. Objectives: 1. Discuss our empirical findings on privacy attitudes and further elaborate or differentiate the user personas we gathered from our interviews. 2. Creatively think of new ways to communicate risks and benefits to different types of users discussed and refined in step one.
