Ricardo has a legal background and started out as an international tax advisor. He decided to switch from legal/tax to data protection in 2017. After working as a consultant, he was appointed as the DPO of the Leiden University. As of 2022 Ricardo has been leading the DPO team at the Dutch DPA. The DPO team is dedicated to guide, supervise and strengthen compliance regarding ther DPOs in the Netherlands.
