What is the Oversight Committee?

The Oversight Committee is the guardian of values and integrity and the complaint body of CPDP Brussels. It comprises of three members appointed by the CPDP Executive Director for two years, including volunteering members of the Scientific Advisory Committee and external candidates. It handles complaints from participants and other persons involved in the Brussels conference. It addresses issues referred by the Scientific Advisory Committee regarding speakers, partner institutions, and sponsors with political dimensions. It can propose recommendations and/or proposals for sanctions.

The Oversight Committee enforces the CPDP Values and CPDP Code of Conduct. It does so in collaboration with the participants, the CPDP organisers and the Scientific Advisory Committee.

-The CPDP Values promotes academic quality, ethical integrity and transparency in decision-making, while safeguarding CPDP's multi-stakeholders character based on principles of transparency, inclusiveness, accountability and academic independence. In case of violation of the CPDP Values the Oversight Committee will propose recommendations to the CPDP organisers and these recommendations shall be sent to the chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee.

-The Code of Conduct promotes a welcoming and harassment-free environment for everyone, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, physical abilities, physical appearances, or beliefs. In case of violation of the code of Conduct the Oversight Committee proposes recommendations and/or sanctions to the CPDP organisers.
