CPDP has taken note of the press statement published by Access Now today (May 22nd) about its management of panels dealing with the situation in Palestine.
We regret that, in the run-up to the conference, aspects of the communication around these panels were not done in a way that was acceptable to the panel organisers.
It was not, and never will be, our intention to silence, or censor, any significant voices or debates.
As such, we welcome the criticism from Access Now and others and will discuss the matter at the upcoming scientific committee – a board in front of which the organisers give account. We are committed to dealing with this issue in a better way going forward.
