Mathias Vermeulen is the co-founder and policy director of AWO, a law firm and consultancy specialized in digital policy and data governance issues. Mathias is also a fellow at the Centre for Law, Science, Technology and Society at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Earlier he worked for Mozilla, the European Parliament, the European University Institute, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the UN Special Rapporteur on the protection of human rights while countering terrorism. He has a Ph.D. in European privacy law.
