Christian Wiese Svanberg is General Counsel at the Danish Defense Intelligence Service. He holds law degrees from the University of Copenhagen and University of Pennsylvania Law School (LLM class of 2008) and a BA in European law & West European Studies from the University of Wolverhampton, UK. He chaired the first six months of the expert level negotiations of the European Union’s GDPR during the Danish EU Presidency in 2012. He was also the lead case officer on the successful passage of the EU-US PNR agreement in 2012. He is an external lecturer in European Data Protection law at the University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Law and the author of several book chapters and peer reviewed article on Data Protection and Privacy Law related issues.
