defenddigitalme advocates in England for safe, fair and transparent data in schools and beyond. Recent work includes encouraging the Department for Education to move 23 million pupils’ records into a safe setting access model; exposing the secret use of children’s data in immigration enforcement; and ending the collection of nationality in schools. In 2018 Jen co-authored an interim report, The State of Data: Lessons for Policy Makers, mapping data in the education landscape in England. The full report, including AI, apps, biometrics, and surveillance in schools, through to data analytics in Higher Education, will be out this Spring. Funding permitting, defenddigitalme will champion more fairness and enforcement in 2019. @TheABB defenddigitalme.com
