Peris Brines

European Data Protection Board (EU)

Nerea Peris Brines is a legal officer and Deputy Data protection Officer of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB), which she joined in 2018. She specialises in international transfers of personal data and compliance tools under the GDPR and has also been involved in the EDPB work on health-related matters. Before joining the EDPB, Nerea worked as research assistant at Utrecht University and as a junior lawyer at a Spanish law firm. Nerea holds an LL.M in European Law and Fundamental Rights and an LL.M in Legal Practice and is a qualified lawyer in Spain. She is a regular contributor to the data protection journal “La Ley Privacidad” (Wolters Kluwer) and has participated as a speaker in several data protection conferences and courses.
