Bryce Newell is an Assistant Professor in the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon. He is also Co-Director of the Surveillance Studies Network (SSN) and Dialogue Editor for the SSN’s academic journal, Surveillance & Society. As of mid-June, 2022, he will also be joining Utrecht University for 15 months to work with Prof. Nadya Purtova and her research team investigating how law can protect people from information-related harms stemming from automated data processing.
