Orla Lynskey is an Assistant Professor in the Law Department at the LSE, where she teaches in the fields of Digital Rights, IT law and EU law. Her primary area of research interest is EU data protection law. Her monograph, The Foundations of EU Data Protection Law, was published by OUP in 2015. Orla is an editor of International Data Privacy Law and the European Law Blog, Case Note Editor of the Modern Law Review and on the Editorial Board of European Data Protection Law Review. Orla is currently interested in issues of data protection governance and in the regulatory challenges posed by digital dominance or ‘platform power’. Prior to entering into academia, Orla worked as an academic assistant at the College of Europe (Bruges) and as an antitrust lawyer in Brussels.
