Dr Liza Lovdahl Gormsen joined BIICL in September 2014 as a Senior Research Fellow and the director of the Competition Law Forum. Liza is a Non-Governmental Advisor to the UK for the International Competition Network's (ICN) Unilateral Conduct Working Group and the Agency Effectiveness Working Group. Previously, Liza was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester (2011-2014) and London School of Economics (2008-2011). Liza has experience in private practice at both national and international level and served as a Lawyer at the Office of Fair Trading (2004-2008). In 2007, she obtained a PhD in Competition Law at King's College London supervised by Emeritus Professor Richard Whish QC and visiting Professor David Bailey (Brick Court Chambers). Liza is the author of A Principle Approach to Abuse of Dominance (Cambridge University Press, 2010) and European State Aid and Tax Rulings (Edward Elgar, forthcoming January 2019). She has provided written and oral evidence to the ongoing Furman review on Digital Competition in the UK as well as to the Digital Policy Alliance at the House of Lords.
