Moritz Körner, born in 1990, is a member of the presidium of the FDP and Secretary General of the FDP North Rhine-Westphalia. He is a member of the European Parliament since May 2019. Moritz Körner is a member of the committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and the committee on Budgets and Vice-Chairman of the Committee of Inquiry to investigate the use of Pegasus and equivalent surveillance spyware. He is a member of the delegation for relations with the People's Republic of China and substitute member of the delegation for relations with India. He was negotiator of the Renew Europe group for the Multiannual Financial Framework and currently serves as its negotiator for E-Evidence. Furthermore he was Renew Europe´s shadow rapporteur for the Rule of Law Mechanism. He was the leading candidate of the FDP North Rhine-Westphalia for the European elections in 2019. Prior he was a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament and spokesperson of the parliamentary investigatory committee on the Amri case, better known as the Berlin Christmas market terror attack. From 2013 until 2018, Körner was the chairman of Young Liberals North Rhine-Westphalia, the Youth wing of the FDP.
