Monika Kopcheva belongs to the "Justice and Home Affairs" DG of the Council of the EU since 2011 where she is responsible for the EU Cybercrime and Cybersecurity policy, with focus now on cross-border access to e-evidence and data retention. Monika Kopcheva is also senior lecturer on Criminal Law in the Digital Era at the University of Luxembourg. Holds a PhD in Cybercrime (2006) and MA in Human Rights (2001). Interested in the impact of new technologies on the functioning of justice systems and the protection of fundamental rights in cyberspace.
