Catherine Jasserand is a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven (Belgium), where she is a Marie Curie fellow researching the privacy impacts of facial recognition use in public space. Since 2014, she has been researching the intersection between privacy/data protection and biometrics. She obtained her PhD degree in that field at the University of Groningen (the Netherlands). She has a particular interest in interdisciplinary research with computer scientists and engineers in the field of biometric recognition. She has written several conference papers, together with scientists, on facial recognition and speech. She is also a regular speaker at technical conferences, where she presents and discusses her research.
