Jan Philipp Albrecht is minister for Energy, Agriculture, Environment and Digitization of the German Land Schleswig-Holstein since 2018. Before that he was a Member of the European Parliament for the Greens, elected as one of the youngest parliamentarians in 2009. He’s graduated in law school at the Humboldt-University in Berlin and owns a double LL.M. in ICT law (Oslo/Hanover). Besides his work in the European Parliament, in particular as its rapporteur for the General Data Protection Regulation, he has published a lot on data protection and civil liberties and teaches European ICT law at the University of Vienna. In June 2022 he will be taking over the presidency of the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation which is a globally acting Greens policy thinktank.
