Pauline Hellemans is a researcher at the Centre of IT & IP Law at KU Leuven where she has worked on the BOOST-project in collaboration with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, the CRIDS (UNamur) and SMIT (VUB). The BOOST-project focused on the implementation of the GDPR by small and medium enterprises. Pauline is also an IP/IT & Data Protection Associate at the Belgian law firm Lydian. At Lydian, she has experience with the practical implementation of the GDPR in SMEs by assisting SMEs, but also auditing SMEs in the context of vendor and buyer due diligences. She has also represented clients in disputes before the litigation chamber of the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
