Andrew Charlesworth is Professor of Law, Innovation and Society at the University of Bristol Law School and Computer Science Department, and on the Management Board of the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Interactive AI. He has worked in data protection and privacy law for over 20 years, and was part of the international group of experts that developed the UK ICO’s Privacy Impact Assessment Handbook. He was a co-investigator in the Horizon2020 PrivacyFlag project (2015-2018) and, following on from that project, is a member of the International Board of Experts of EuroPrivacy, a certification scheme for data protection under the GDPR.
