Ernani Cerasaro is Legal Officer at BEUC (The European Consumer Organization), working on digital and consumer policy. Before, he served as Policy Assistant of the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), Mr. Giovanni Buttarelli and member of his Private Office. He provides advice on technology developments having an impact on individuals’ privacy and other fundamental rights due to the processing of their personal data. Among the topics he focuses on: consumers protection; data economy; accountability and transparency; data ethics; AI; online tracking and profiling; digital identity. He has published various articles and papers on data protection law, administrative law and transparency and has recently contributed with a Chapter on GDPR and transparency in a manual published by the Italian Anti-Corruption Authority.
