Lucy Bradshaw-Murrow is Chief of Staff to the UK Biometrics Commissioner. In this role she supports and represents the Biometrics Commissioner, who is independent of government and whose statutory role is to keep under review the retention and use of DNA and fingerprints for law enforcement and national security. The Commissioner has also commented extensively on the use by the police of new biometric technologies. Lucy studied social sciences and undertook legal training before joining the Civil Service in 2012. Prior to her appointment to the Biometrics Commissioner’s Office in 2015 she worked for UK Visas and Immigration.
