Professor Michael Birnhack is Associate Dean for Research at the Faculty of Law, Tel Aviv University, Israel, and Professor of Law. He directs the Parasol international LL.M. Program and the S. Horowitz institute for IP. His privacy research focuses on theoretical and legal issues, and currently, he focuses on school surveillance and digital remains. Michael served on the Israeli Privacy Council for three terms, was sub-contractor for the EU on the matter of Israel’s adequacy, and was a member of several expert committees on privacy issues. He is a co-editor of a forthcoming volume on privacy theory, to be published by Theoretical Inquiries in Law, and editor of a forthcoming book on privacy and surveillance in Hebrew.
