This panel, hosted by the European Commission, will bring together senior leaders from two recently established data protection authorities (Brazil and Kenya) to share their experience in institutionalizing data protection oversight, discuss key achievements to date, identify opportunities for future collaboration with regional and international partners, and reflect on common challenges facing new authorities around the world. The discussion will also benefit from the views of the former head of the data protection authority of Georgia, who will share her experiences advising privacy regulators in Africa and Asia.
