Short BIO
Anne-Christine Lacoste is a legal advisor at the Office of the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS). Her day to day responsibilities include the drafting of official opinions and follow-up of issues such as transfer of personal data to third countries (Transatlantic dialogue on data protection, Passenger Name Record, binding corporate rules) and privacy in the context of new technologies. She has completed a degree in law and a post graduate degree in International and European law at the Catholic University of Louvain. She worked for a few years as a researcher at the Department of Economic and Social law of the University, on legal assistance programmes of the European Commission. She joined the EDPS after ten years at the Belgian Privacy Commission where she was head of the legal service.
