Short BIO

Walter PEISSL has a PhD in social sciences. He is deputy director and senior researcher employed at ITA since 1988 who has been lecturing at various Austrian universities since 1992. During 1986/87 he worked as consumer policy adviser at the Federal Ministry for Family, Youth and Consumer Protection, and for the Society for Consumer Information. His major research fields include social and economic effects of new telecommunications technologies and methodological issues of Technology Assessment. His current focus is on privacy, ICT for the elderly and in health care, participatory methods in Technology Assessment.
