Short BIO

Kieron O'Hara is a senior research fellow in Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton, UK. His research interests are the political and philosophical aspects of technology, especially the World Wide Web and the Semantic Web. Particular themes in his research are trust, privacy, open data and memory. He currently chairs the transparency sector panel in crime and criminal justice for the UKgovernment, and is the author of several books including 'Trust: From Socrates to Spin' and 'The Spy in the Coffee Machine: The End of Privacy as we Know it' (with Nigel Shadbolt).
