Short BIO Andrs Jri, PhDobtained his law degree at Etvs Lornd University, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, Budapest; he is also a certified system administrator. Between 1997 and 2000 he was a staff member of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. Between 2000 and 2008 he wasa member of the legal advisory board of the Council of Hungarian Internet Providers, responsible for the regulation of domain name delegation process under the .hu top level domain. Since 2001 hewas an attorney and a member of Budapest Bar Association, advising his multinational and domestic clients on data protection law. Between 2008 and 2011 he served as the Data Protection and Freedom of InformationCommissioner of Hungary. Andrs Jri is the author of numerous articles on data protection and IT law; in 2005, as one of his most important works he published his Data Protection Handbook.
