Short BIO As from October 2004 he works for the EDPS, first as Coordinator for Legislative Consultations Team and for Court Proceedings, and since May 2010 as Head of Policy & Consultations (EDPS). He represented the EDPS before the Court of Justice. Issues he worked on include proposals in the area of police and judicial cooperation, the Stockholm Programme and the future of the data protection Directive 95/46. Specific subject matters: PNR, data retention and the relationship between data protection and public access to documents. From November 2000 to September 2004, he worked as référendaire in the Court of Justice in Luxembourg, the Cabinet of Advocate-General Geelhoed. Until 2000, he held different posts within the Dutch administration. His specialisations are quality of legislation, EU law and law on Internet and privacy, on which topics he published several articles.
