Short BIO

I was trained as Psychology PhD at the University of Deusto (Spain,2006). I have experience as a Clinical Psychologist since 2000 on the Crownsville Hospital Center, Crownsville, Maryland (EE.UU., 2000-2001), Hospital Psiquitrico de Bermeo, (Spain, 2001-2002), La Loma Geriatric Residence, Castro-Urdiales (Spain, 2003-2005), and Zutitu Ltd (2005-2006). With a grant from Oriol-Urquijo University-Foundation, I developed my doctoral dissertation 'Effects of psychological intervention in cognitive decline of residentialized elderly people', published by UMI Dissertation Publishing, Ann Harbor, MI (USA). From 2007 until February 2008 I taught some courses and workshops of maintenance of cognitive functions, wellbeing and laugh-therapy for elderly people, within IPACE Ltd, Vitoria (Spain). Since 2008, I work as a research psychologist in Fundacin INGEMA, in several projects related to ageing and physical disability. My main work in these projects has been related to users' evaluation and handling of ethical issues, including privacy and data protection.

My areas of interest are the study of variables enhancing cognitive reserve, and the development of cognitive training and rehabilitation programs, from a biopsychosocial perspective which integrates all the factors mediating in the improvement of cognitive performance in advanced aging.
