Short BIO
Johann Čas has a degree from a Higher Technical College in Communications Engineering and a Masters degree in economics. He is a senior researcher employed at ITA since 1988. He has worked on several aspects of the Information Society. Past foci of research include technological development programmes, impact on employment and regional development, information systems for policy makers, regulatory issues of new telecommunication technologies and privacy. His current research focus is on privacy in the information society, privacy enhancing technologies and their deployment within Ambient Intelligence. He coordinated the PASR Supporting Activity PRISE - Privacy enhancing shaping of security research and technology – A participatory approach to develop acceptable and accepted principles for European Security Industries and Policies.
