Short BIO
Dr. Sergio Bellucci is Director of the Swiss Centre for Technology Assessment (TA-SWISS) at the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences. He occupies this position since 1996. He received a degree in agronomy of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich in 1976, and a doctorate at the same Institute in 1980. He then became researcher at the Agro-Division of Ciba-Geigy in Basle. In 1989, he became Director of the Centre for Continuing Education of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and, in 1993, Director of the Management and Technology Institute at the Technopark in Zurich.
Dr. Sergio Bellucci is member of several groups, commissions and projects addressing the issue of "science, technology and society", such as the European Parliamentary Technology Assessment Network EPTA.

Electronic Patient-record: Swiss citizens and stakeholders express their opinion
Abstract
In June 2007 the Swiss Federal Government passed a strategy for the promotion of eHealth in Switzerland. The agency for the co-ordination of eHealth between the Federation and the Cantons and professionals in the health service, health politics and computer science areas elaborated practical implementation ideas for the mostly federalistically organised Swiss health service. It was, however, difficult to estimate how the general public would react to the "eHealth" strategy. It was especially unclear how the storage of personal health data in electronic files would be accepted. For this reason, the Centre for Technology Assessment TA-SWISS organised a publifocus that reviewed the wide spectrum of opinions on this issue in all three Swiss language areas.
